In the most modern in the Baltic countries Vehicle Logistics Center in Vievis were prepared 252 special purpose Škoda brand cars, which are provided to Lithuanian police officers.
On the 6th of February Lithuanian police representatives were given car keys of the 60 new Škoda brand Octavia and Yeti models. These specially market vehicles are dedicated for the police officers, who are enforcing public order and traffic safety.
Officers, who came to get the new vehicles were congratulated by the Police Department’s under the Ministry of the Interior, Public Police Board’s organization and Prevention Unit’s Patrols Section Chief Specialist Alvydas Verbickas.
“I am glad, that we have the opportunity to acquire vehicles with a modern and innovative equipment. Thanks to it – officers performed work quality will be better, as well citizens will get more quality services”, – told A. Verbickas.
Lithuanian police chaplain priest Algirdas Toliatas blessed the vehicles and wished to the officers God’s care on the road. As well chaplain wished to the officers to maintain the alertness, that on a proper attention could protect less careful people from the traffic accidents or other road accidents.
In total in Vehicle Logistics Center in Vievis were prepared 252 Škoda cars, which will be used by Lithuanian police officers. Police vehicles fleet renewed with the aim to ensure proper public patrol and traffic safety, therefore obtaining 30 Octavia and 80 Yeti cars with the 2.0 TDI diesel engine. As well in the logistics center have been prepared 142 non-patrol Octavia cars.
